Islamic Kitchen Wadihana @ Bandar Baru Bangi

Pretty broke but still want a great , filling food, plus affordable, so I decided to try this restaurant known as Islamic Kitchen Wadihana in Bandar Baru Bangi, of course after did some homework from other bloggers. I'm not really sure with the entire concept of food they serve but, you can find Western, Malay and Chinese food here. The variety of food they offered makes me go gaga, and  I was about to order two meals for myself and luckily my friend stopped me. Back to my rational state, I finally choose, SWIK steak while my friend picked Nasi Goreng Black Pepper.

SWIK Steak : RM 21.90
I never expect that the steak would be this good cause for that kind of price I would assume the steak could be a bit hard in the inside, but it was fine. I asked for medium well, but I think it was semi-medium well, where some part I think it was well done. Honestly, I was satisfied with my choice but my friend, in the other hand, don't find his meal appetizing enough for his taste, cause the nasi goreng taste was ordinary. The only think that special in this nasi goreng black pepper is, they gave 2 chicken wings.

Came with fries, corn and seasonal veggie.

Nasi Goreng B/Pepper: RM 9.90

Ribena Longan : RM 5.90
Teh O Lychee : RM 4.90

Ben's @ Pavilion

I heard about this place form my friends and I was like 'what place is this? ' what kind of food they serve, and what is the concept. So I googled it, and the feedback from bloggers didn't disappoint me. I was suppose to have reunion with my former schoolmates here but due to some unavoidable stuff I had to settle, I just couldn't make it.

As we reached the place, I can see a small crowd  at the entrance which gave me good impression bout' this place. Around 10 minutes of waiting, (in designated area), we manage to get seats but only outside seat available at that moment. I don't really bother about the seating thing, so we walk inside, as I walk by the premise, I feel like I've  been to this kind of place before and wondering where, and finally, owh yeah, this place looks like Delicious. Well considering the owner is the same, so it kinda get a bit influence in terms of interior design.

We manage to get seats outside which I found that the environment and the ambiance outside is better than inside cause having to look at the KL scenery at night from the top  is so breathtaking with all the neon lights. So, I took couple of pictures from top and this is it.

We ordered Spicy Buffalo Wings, which taste more or less like any other buffalo wings, but I prefer Chilis version. The name doesn't really fits the dish cause I didn't really get the spicy taste, I don't know whether I have spicy tolerance or the dish was just not spicy enough. This set came with 2 dipping which I guess a blue cheese dip and I'm not sure of the other one.
Buffalo Wings (RM 15.90)

Come to the main dish, my partner choose a Wagyu Beef Pie. I love this meal and enjoy it very much. This dish came with a generous portion of beef with reasonable price. My main course in the other hand, arrived a bit late and I've got to say that I think I'd made a wrong choice. I ordered Mushrooms Lasagna, and I was expecting the mushrooms would be portobello mushroom but instead it was oyster mushrooms but somehow we manage to finish this meal, lucky me, I don't have allergy towards fungi kingdom except the poisonous family. If you are a big fan of oyster mushrooms, this meal suits you well.

Wagyu Beef Pie (RM 25.90)
Lasagne Mushroom (RM23.90)
Juicy beef and tender

Generous portion of oyster mushrooms.

As for the dessert, we choose,  chocolate truffle torte and there's nothing special with the taste. The chocolate taste is too plain and yeah it came with a glass of milk to counteract the strong chocolate taste.

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge (OU)

This lounge is actually originated from Australia and the main attraction here are the variety of chocolates offered, range from white to dark chocolate. This is the first outlet (in One Utama) opened in Malaysia so, we decided to give it a try, since we not yet have our tea-time.

So we ordered at the counter since it's a self service.  We ordered hot belgian chocolate, and it came with the warmer, since the name itself is hot chocolate, so the idea is to maintain the hotness of the chocolate... :p
We ordered spinach quiche, which is tasteless, and a bit pricy for 1 slice. I was informed that the fruits with chocolate is kinda hot stuff here, where they have strawberry sensation and chocolate affair. Maybe next time, I'll try 'em.

Hot Belgian Chocolate with mug the warmer at RM12.90

Tony Romas The Garden

It was 4 days before new year, and I needed something to fill my stomach and then watching movie so I headed to Mid Valley cause I can't think of any convenient place so far. By convenient I mean, place that has wide range of food options and nearby. I wanted to go Chilis at first, but just by looking at the crowd make me think twice, considering that my stomach started to make its own music, so I headed myself to the ground floor an tadaaa~  Tony Roma's seems empty, and I asked to be seated. So there were two of us and without hesitating, we placed our order and it turned out to be like this:-

Pesto Pasta (RM 33.90)- WARNING - super big portion

Caesar Salad (RM19.90)

Roma Sampler (RM 39.90)
Overall, the food quality is not that good cause I remember last time I ordered the potato skin , it was so rich with cheese and this time was a bit plain. I don't really fancy the onions rings and the bread that was served as a complimentary starter was cold and there's a reduction in quantity compared to the previous visit.
The worst part is the Caesar salad, well sorry to say that I regret ordering this meals. The chicken was so hard to chew and it was dry.The croutons were sooo big and was lack of crispiness in it. I don't enjoy it and there was still leftover. Not that I don't want to finish it, but I can't take the taste anymore.

Total Damage : RM129.35
Venue: Tony Roma's , Mid Valley.

Haeun Khon (Korean Restaurant)

That day I was craving for korean food, and so depressed that the one in Bangsar was long time closed already. So sad until I've come to conclusion to search for new one, and ultimately I found this restaurant.  Located in Amcorp Mall, 3rd floor. Easy to find, just look for Korean decoration and flags and you are there. The place is a bit crowded which is a good sign I suppose, and when we entered there's only 1 table left. LUCKY me.... We placed an order and all the foods serve in set, that means no a la carte... too bad... so I ordered Bulgogi Jung Sik ( beef BBQ), where the set consist of 3 side dishes, 1 plate of fruit, a bowl of soup, and i bowl of rice. The beef taste awesome and perfectly marinated, not to mention that the juiciness of the meat went well with the plain rice.  The price is pretty cheap for for the generous portion and I'm very satisfied with the price.

Kimchi Jikeh (RM 15.90)

Dak Bulgogi Jung Sik (RM14.90)

The Side Dishes (nonrefillable)

Bulgogi Jung Sik (RM16.90)

Chicken bulgogi (RM14.50)

Nothing can go wrong with beef bulgogi. I love that they grill the beef to perfection and with all the marinated sauce , I couldn't ask more. (Drama mode)
Both chicken and beef bulgogi are to die for and with that price, I will definitely come again.

Swensen's

Sirloin Steak (RM 31.90)

Bake Spaghetti Bolognese  (RM 18.90)

Marsh Latte (RM 7.90)

Orange Juice (RM 3.94)

The reason why we dine at Swensen's is that we randomly pick a restaurant and risk our dinner. To be honest, I won't go to this place for meals like this (steak, pasta) because they aren't worth it. Next time, I suggest , go for the cake and ice cream only...Just look at the size of the sirloin steak, super small which I never see this kind of small steak during my entire life! As predicted, I was still hungry and I was sooo disappointed .I didn't try The Bake Spag Bolognese because I'm out of mood. As ya'll can see, the seasonal veggie is in it's very tiny size. Two words, NOT WORTH .

Chilis 2

yeah...again with the chilis (mid valley) thing. We were supposed to go Las Vacas but due to traffic congestion, we end up dining at Chilis and take into consideration that it's been a while since our last visit to Chilis, so we fine with it. I'm just not really enjoy with this time visit because I felt like the food is so-so and I had a headache (chinese restaurant syndrome) after finishing my meal . Plus the table that was given to me is dirty and the floor is sticking and also I did comment about this condition but there's seems no respond from the other party. So, these are what we had at that time. New menu in the list.

My favourite (mashrooms jack fajitas)
This is the new menu, and I still don't know why my partner choose this...

Triple Play (RM25.95)

came along with the mashroom jack fajitas
can't provide the actual price here because I lost the receipt...

House of Pakeeza

Today I decided to have Northern Indian cuisine, so I heard bout this restaurant named Pakeeza, located in PJ, and before that I did some 'research' bout this place and not much results I got. Just a few review (blogs), so basically this place is not really popular but I think why not just give it a try. When we reached there, can see that there's less customer, I don't know whether it was because of the wrong time dining or the place is originally having less people coming. The waiters very friendly and really doing their job, and after we were seated, we browse the menu and try to find something nice and new. overall, the foods that we ate is fine and just okay. The Briyani is out, trust me I tasted better than this one, the garlic naan is superb and the chicken bombaywala also not really nice. It tastes weird but lucky palak paneer is there to save the whole dinner.

D'templer

After getting bored with all the western and Italian foods, I decided to eat something more Asian, so I suggested to my Duke that we should go to D'templer which was introduced to me by my sis. The concept is Chinese Cuisine which I found very authentic and of course it is halal. So, we placed our order, but at first we kinda like very hesitate to pick our menu cause there were a lots of dish to choose.... so rambang mata for a while. Finally, we choose, siakap steam (RM40), Spicy beef, baby kailan, fried squid, 2 dim sum, and for drinks we just ordered Chinese tea. Overall, I love the foods we choose that day. We were very satisfied with it.
This is the rice pot, really worth it cause it came in bulk, and you don't have
to pay extra for extra rice. Generous....

This is the Siakap steam, sedap sangat....Duke like this very much....

the Deep fried squid....bolehla....but i suggest the Nestum prawn (signature dish) and the baby kailan

this is the chinese tea, cam in pot and the spicy beef which taste like beef bacon (very tasty)
these, are the menu that we tried that day...it was awesome... I highly recommend these menu.

Pain No More...

My tonsilitis is back...again...and I have to suffer for the whole week... well I can't blame anyone cause obviously it's my fault for having cold drinks like 3 days in a row. So my mom took me to see the specialist. ENT of course and I was asked to do the x-ray and so I did. there's no problem with my sinus and I'm so relief. I was given doxycycline, broad spectrum, lucky me. And after finish my course (drug), I discovered that I'm no longer have tonsil stones, which used to be my major problem back then. As far as I'm concern, it almost 2 weeks that I haven't get the tonsil stone... before I went to see the specialist (somewhere in Jalan Ipoh) Dr. Harnam Singh, I already made an appointment with the government hospital, but I only get to see the doc on 8th March. By the time I see the doc, I think my tonsil already cured. Like forever kot have to wait. Yes, the reality of government hospital. And as for the bill for my throat... I've to spent RM120, I mean my mom. This is the price to pay when you messing with the private hospital.

p/s: i'm still going on 8th march whether I like it or not.
